Historical Timeline: Over 35 Years in the Making

  • 1973

    The Spark

    TradeTrans roots back to 1973, when a young Bob began his career with a large multi-national corporation. Within a year, he seized an opportunity with their ops group that sparked a passion and natural knack for foodservice exporting.

  • 1978

    Invaluable Lessons

    In 1978 Antes parted ways from corporate life and traveled the country for several months. Eventually settling in Florida, he ventured a small business start-up. Although the business did not prove successful, he attributes his failed endeavor to gaining invaluable lessons that led to the future success of TradeTrans.

  • 1979

    Journey Begins

    Returning to his home state of New York, Antes began work in a freight forwarding division of a global cargo inspection firm. Consequently, he was quickly promoted to a management position that led him to the firm’s California office. Before too long, Antes was transferred to Seattle as a project manager for a regional freight forwarder which would eventually become Federal Express.

  • 1984

    TradeTrans Founded

     In 1982, a small exporting company approached Antes to lead an operations upgrade. He negotiated the customer-base purchase when the firm decided to close its doors in 1984. Hence, TradeTrans was formed. Learning from prior experiences, Antes ran the new company while working as president for a start-up national trucking company.

  • 1986

    All In

    In 1986, Antes made the move to put all his efforts into developing TradeTrans into his vision of a food service supply chain management leader.

  • 2000

    Growth

     Over 14 years of hard work, Antes grew TradeTrans from a solo business owner to a seven-million-dollar operation. During this time, he led the international expansion with big brand quick service restaurant (QSR) franchisers in the coffee, donuts and fried chicken categories.

  • 2001

    Global Milestone

    In 2001, TradeTrans took on global distribution management for one of the world’s premier ice cream brands. For this reason, the operations moved to a 33,000 square-foot office-warehouse complex in Chester, NY.

  • 2012

    Expansion Continues

    TradeTrans continues to grow in global distribution, purchasing, warehousing leading to a 7,000-square foot facility expansion in 2012.

  • 2020

    Rebrand

    TradeTrans celebrates 35 years with a new brand. A new website and logo are introduced, along with the tag line:

    “Moving the World for You.”

  • 2022

    2022 and Beyond

    Having experienced record sales of over 28 million in 2021, the company is poised to significantly accelerate growth in the coming years.  Our existing business base continues to expand, and we are aggressively pursuing new lines of business to further bolster our long-term sustainability and profitability.  We believe that greater warehousing space and additional personnel will provide the necessary core resources to accomplish this objective.
