FAQs

Below is a list of FAQs:

Q: What is TradeTrans doing to protect employees? Is it safe for employees to still be working?
A: The safety and well-being of all of our employees is our utmost priority. We have several procedures to safeguard our employees against infection. Hand and equipment sanitizing takes place as often as necessary. Additionally, we wear masks as directed by authorities.

Q: Can COVID-19 transmission happen via my shipment?
A: The CDC, the World Health Organization, as well as the US Surgeon General have indicated that there is currently no evidence that COVID-19 is being spread through the mail.

Specifically, according to the World Health Organization, “the likelihood of an infected person contaminating commercial goods is low and the risk of catching the virus that causes COVID-19 from a package that has been moved, travelled, and been exposed to different conditions and temperature is also low.”

Furthermore, the CDC reports, “in general, because of poor surviability of these coronaviruses on surfaces, there is likely very low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks at ambient temperatures. Coronaviruses are generally thought to be spread most often by respiratory droplets.”

No present evidence of transmission

Continued from the CDC, “Currently there is no evidence to support transmission of COVID-19 with imported goods. Likewise, to date there have not been any cases of COVID-19 in the United States associated with imported goods.” In addition, we are encouraging our workers and couriers to sanitize regularly and after each contact encounter.

Q: The number of infections with COVID-19 is increasing, are there preventive measures which the warehouse staff must follow?
A: Aligned with CDC and WHO, we recommend good hygiene habits, correct coughing/sneezing etiquette and maintaining social distance. We work with a “Safety First” approach:

  • Keep at least 6ft away from each other
  • Avoid physical contact (high fives, handshaking)
  • Hand washing frequently and thoroughly (at least 20 seconds) with soap & warm water.
  • Cover mouth when coughing or sneezing (tissue or your flexed elbow)
  • Avoid touching face (eyes, nose or mouth) with unwashed hands
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick, sneezing or coughing
  • Stay at home when sick
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects people frequently touch
  • Face-to-face meetings only take place as essential with employees practicing safe distancing
